What is the Deliberate Board Diversity Project?


The Deliberate Board Diversity Project is a social purpose-drive commitment, established by a coalition of leading Canadian organizations, including Women Get On Board, Alliance Advisors IR, and Best In Governance, to transform board diversity into a clear, actionable framework that organizations can use to make meaningful progress.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster inclusive leadership by providing organizations with practical tools and methodologies that reflect the diversity of the communities they serve. We believe diversity should go beyond representation—it should drive innovation, enhance decision-making, and foster a culture of inclusivity at the governance level.

Action Plan

Transforming Governance Through Deliberate Board Diversity

Staying true to diversity and inclusion, we leveraged the expertise of over 200 directors, governance professionals, industry, academic, associations and regulatory and legislative bodies from Canada. Via in-depth interviews, surveys, and desktop research, we examined modern governance practices and emerging trends shaping boardroom diversity across Canada to develop solutions that would provide boards with the practical tools they need to foster diversity.
